- Let me start by saying do the research on the product before buying it. If you are getting a killer deal with just having to pay shipping think again. This is one of the biggest cons out there. Just google the term white van speakers or even the name of the unit you are buying. They are so cheaply made its not even worth the shipping. The magnets on them are weak enough to hold maybe a piece of paper not to mention the speakers are usually made out of paper. Lets just say your little boom box is about the same sound. Be careful do some homework there are plenty of sites out there that are selling these and most are setup by the people who sell this garbage. Remember the name and even go into an audio store and ask someone about the name they will tell you they are cheap and not worth the headaches. Sure the MSRP says 3299.99 on the UPC but really look at some others out there I don't know of any good company that prints the price on the UPC. This is just a tip to help you from making the mistake I did.
The brand name of the speakers is often confusingly similar to a well-regarded speaker manufacturer. For example, the reputations of manufacturers such as and Wharfedale are used to sell low-quality speakers with fake brand names like Kirsch, Paradyme, Dahlton, and Grafdale.
"Matrix Audio Concepts" is another fictional brand that returns additional related websites with an Internet search query for that term. Some sites, such as for "Theater Research" and "Theater Innovations", also list customer service telephone numbers or support e-mail addresses. These methods of contact are often dead ends.
Another recent technique is to resurrect the names of older companies—for example, Genesis Media Labs is a white van scam name that trades on the old brand Genesis Media, while DiVinci trades on the name of the Swiss "DaVinci" company, and that company makes some truly incredible claims—as one reviewer wrote.- Audiofile
