Does designer jewelry go up in value? While many know the names of world renowned designer's who have been around for decades (such as, Cartier, Tiffany and Harry Winston). There are designer's who have made their mark in the industry in the last few decades who are now commanding high prices for their designs.

While we know that designer jewelry costs so much more than "knock-offs" of the original "authentic" designer, do the pieces go up in value? The answer would be "yes" as the price point is upheld by the designer and demand for the style of that specific designer is pushed by those who can afford to purchase the product in high-end retail jewelry stores worldwide.

Designer's release new product lines each and every year and will only produce a certain number of a specific design, which in turn, drives the market and keeps the value (price point) of that specific design near the Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price. Once the design is "sold out" the secondary market begins to sell that design at higher prices, as demand out strips supply.

However, high end jewelry store chains do shut down stores, which are under performing and as such, much sought after designer pieces become available to the general market.

Today, many consumer's are seeking not only bargains but, bargains with designer names attached. One such designer is Charles Krypell.  In this series of Designer Guides we will focus on world famous jewelry designer's, which many consumer's are familiar with and designer's who many have not even heard of (even though their design's are worn and adorned by the rich and famous).

Born in 1954, Charles Krypell has been internationally hailed for his keen understanding of fine jewelry. Celebrating two decades of timeless jewelry for the sophisticated and astute collector.

A native New Yorker, Krypell realized that he wanted to be a jeweler while attending Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York. As a sculptor, Krypell did not only work with jewelry, but with several art mediums. It was jewelry, however, that captured his artistic sensibilities. "there is a dimensional quality of texture and movement that captivated me," stated Krypell.

One of the few designers who has been able to synthesize the three dimensional quality of jewelry, Krypell's work demands viewer involvement. His jewelry twists, dives, turns, and curves while tantalizing one's senses in a kaleidoscope of exquisite gems.

His latest creation, Little Sweethearts, is a collection of charms and pendants designed to commemorate the birth of children, or grandchildren. His Brilliance Collection features brilliantly cut diamonds and colored gemstones.

Designed in 18 karat yellow or white gold with diamonds, rubies, sapphires, emeralds or pink sapphires. This combination of gemstone colors can be chosen to represent the gender of a child or a particular person (Pink for a daughter, Blue for a son or Diamonds for Mom)and worn as a pendant or bracelet.

Once you know what each gemstone represents, you can put together your own very special combination. This unique collection is a perfect gift for Any Special Occasions such as a Sweet 16 Birthday, Graduation, Wedding, Anniversary Or just to say "I Love You!"

MSRP for Pink Sapphires with Diamond on the side is $800 MSRP for Pink Sapphires with Diamonds on the bottom is $1500 MSRP for Blue Sapphires with Diamonds on the side is $850 MSRP for Blue Sapphires with Diamonds on the bottom is $1600.

It's important to remember that the MSRP is dependent upon the location of the diamond.

How do you know if the Krypell Sweetheart you're buying is authentic?

The quality of gemstones and diamond is one tell tale sign. Krypell only uses the best in gemstones and diamonds in his creations. In addition, ALL Krypell pieces have the Krypell name stamped on the piece. Those who imitate Krypell's style are not stamped with the Krypell name and the quality of gemstones and diamonds are sub-standard of those in authentic Krypell pieces.

CertifiedJewelsforYou Live Auction results for Krypell pieces have averaged below $300.00. The exact same "authentic" Krypell Sweetheart pieces are commanding up to $1600.00 in high end jewelry stores nationwide.
