We found the Dental Anesthesia Center and went to Dr. Michael J Hoffmann through the yellow pages.
Having a child with disabilities is a challenging experience, especially when it comes to the dentist experience.
He looked in our child's mouth which took about 60 seconds and said she required excessive oral work.
He knew this without taking any x-rays or previously seeing her?
They also required a $550.00 CASH deposit to make the appointment.
I mentioned we had excellent dental insurance.
The receptionist said they needed the cash immediately or could not schedule the procedure.
I asked... So you'll hold my check until after the procedure?
This is in case an appointment is broken, correct?
She said NO, they'll cash it now.
Refund it a later time.

Have you ever had to wait for a doctor or hospital to refund a over payment?
You can wait half a year or more for this.

I've never had a doctor ask this of me and believe me, I've had my share through myself and children.

What is wrong with this doctor?

Of course we didn't go back to him.

Oh here's the good part.
Guess how much they charged us for the 60 second examination?
Over $350.00.
My insurance didn't cover it because they said it was an outrageous fee.
Going back and forth with these people and the insurance company, it finally came down to $11.00 out of pocket.
Paid the $11.00 and then 2 months later received another bill for $34.00!
I will not pay this I said.
Too bad.... turned us over to a collection agency and ruined our credit.
So I paid the $34.00.

4 months have gone by and today I just received another bill from them for an additional $10.00!

I just had to post this to let others know.
Nightmare of a Dental business... they're a business alright!
They've made more money off of us and didn't even treat our child!

We did take our child to a wonderful doctor from Barnes hospital in MO.
He pulled a couple baby teeth out and said she didn't need any dentistry done.
That her problem is that she grinds her teeth at night.

I hate to think about the bill Michael Hoffmann would of demanded from us for unnecessary dental work he would of done and put my little one through so much pain.

Shame on this Man.

Always get a second opinion.

I wrote this seeing others opinions on their dental experiences.
I tried to put a review for him on the Yellow Pages site.
Noticed that he was one who didn't have not 1 review?!
I felt it was my duty to help others with children with disabilities through our experience.
Trying to leave the 'Not recommended' review it wouldn't allow me to post.
Its said I had profanity in my review.
You've just read the review, same exact page as I posted here.
Where is the profanity?
I am an adult and perfectly capable of expressing myself without swearing.
But it seems to be blocking this exact post.
So I asked a friend to try, she too was flagged as profanity and clearly there is none!
Finally after numerous amount of friends attempting, we found that he just may have his page blocked from reviews.
Somewhat one sided I would say.
How can one leave their honest experience whether good or bad and this guy has a few bucks to keep him clear.
