DEMI-PARURE

This term is frequently use in descriptions of Vintage jewelry.


A demi parure is a matching set of jewelry, usually containing a necklace, earrings, and/or a pin.

EXAMPLES:

  •   Necklace and Matching Earrings
  •   Bracelet and Matching Necklace
  •   Bracelet and Matching Earrings
  •   Pin/Brooch and Matching Earrings
  •   Pin/Brooch and Matching Necklace
  •   Pin/Brooch and Matching Bracelet

If you have more pieces that match they are called a Parure.  If you have all the pieces that were designed as a set, they are called a Grand Parure.
