As long as you aren't looking for something the size of a match book, I would highly recommend the Dell Jukebox.  I've had mine for 4 years and it has been dropped, lost, thrown, stepped on, you name it and I've done it.  It just keeps going.  It's clear, easy to understand, easy to download music to.  I've even loaded books on cd to listen to on trips and it doesn't even touch the memory (even with my  700 songs in it.  I wish they still made them because I would buy both my boys their own.  Whatever you do, do mistake the Dell Ditty for the Jukebox.  It's a piece of junk.  Why Dell had a great thing and got rid of it I'll never understand.  If you find one in good shape, buy it, you will love it.
