This guide is for both sellers and buyers. Back when I was a newbie seller here on eBay I got burned by what appeared to be an honest buyer. At least according to their feedback number and rating they appeared honest.

This person had purchased a brand new factory sealed CD from me using PayPal. I shipped it to them using the good 'ole USPS without using Delivery Confirmation. Any veteran sellers reading this are already thinking.... "yikes" or "rookie move" or something of that nature....lol You know what's coming next. Yep, the supposed "honest buyer" claimed that she did not receive the item. Grrrrr. That was the noise I made while writing back and forth with her....lol I sent that darn CD to her 1st class mail, I would swear on a stack of bibles. And she swore she still hadn't received it even after 3 weeks. Now, to be fair, it is possible that it got lost in the mail. However, I have since shipped almost 2,000 items and ZERO have been lost in the mail. The worst thing that has happened is the item has been returned to because we had the wrong address or something.

Anywho, so since she had used PayPal to pay for her item, she filed a claim against moi. I couldn't believe she had done that! But I had no way to prove that I had sent it. Well, I did have my receipt with the date and zip code on it. But that wasn't good enough for PayPal. They want and will only accept a Delivery Confirmation number. I didn't have one, so they sucked the money out of my account. Grrrr.

Let me wrap this up. New sellers, always always get Delivery Confirmation. It's only .14 cents if you use Click 'n Ship or .60 cents using the regular method. It is the best money you can spend. Buyers, insist that your seller use Delivery Confirmation. It will save you both headaches. Plus, you can track your purchase via USPS.com! Good luck to you all!
