I just wanted to let fellow eBayers know that if you have an item to ship or shipped to you by First Class Mail WITH Delivery Confirmation ... the parcel MUST be at least 3/4" Thick to Qualify!

I have had 2 different items I bought on eBay at different times shipped First Class with Delivery Confirmation and Both arrived with POSTAGE DUE!  I mean both times it was Over $3.00 MORE Each... not exactly a few pennies!

(The first item was button cell batteries for my old 35mm camera.  The second item was a slab (stick) of RAM for one of my computers.  I can see where DVDs or CDs in cardboard sleeves ... or some of the newer thin video games could also have a problem also!)

A local Postal Supervisor noticed that the parcels did not meet the 3/4" thick requirement and slapped the $3+ More Postage on the packages and the delivery person walked into my office wanting the money before I could take delivery.

Both items were less than $10 value so for me to pay an additional $3+ more was ridiculous ... I refused and the parcels were sent back to the seller.

I checked the U.S. Postal website and YES IT DOES STATE CLEARLY THE 3/4" THICKNESS RULE for First Class parcels with delivery confirmation.

Sellers, if you use 1st Class with Delivery Confirmation .. jam some paper or bubble-wrap or something in the package to meet the 3/4" requirement.

Buyers make sure the seller knows this rule; otherwise, you may end up like I did and have big time delays in getting your items!

Update:  I recently bought a small item from a Seller than understood this Postal Rule and they enclosed a wad of paper wrapped in tape to make sure the package was at least 3/4" Thick.  I emailed this Seller and they informed me the Surcharge charged is based on  the difference between Priority Mail rate & 1st Class rate ... from $3.00 to $3.50 usually!  So some Sellers are aware of this rule ... while others aren't!

I hope this helps you ... at least you are now informed ... please Vote Yes !

Good Luck on All your eBay auctions!
