Over the years deer processing has taken many perspectives both for the home processor and commercial deer processing facilities.  Many articles have been written addressing the best way of processing a deer both for ease of processing and food safety.  There are many different methods of processing a deer as processing itself is an art.  Deer Masters, founded by Bill Buero, teaches hunters a simple method of deer processing addressing all of the issues a hunter faces in processing their own deer.  Bill owned one of the largest deer processing stores in Southeast Michigan for over 20 years, processing thousands of deer year after year.  He has seen it all, developed his own simple methods of processing, and is now revealing his secrets as he retires his knives.  "With thousands of repeat customers a quality, quick and easy, method of processing was key in growing our business", states Bill

There are many benefits to being a Do-It-Yourself deer processor.  Satisfaction from kill to table, saving money on processing fees, the comfort of knowing your deer was processed correctly...just to name a few.  Hunters are always seeking tips to make processing their deer easier.  Over the years many techniques used by self-taught butchers have been created but are not necessarily the best method of deer processing, especially at home.

There has become an increased awareness in the importance of proper deer processing methods due to food borne illnesses created by improper food handling and diseases such as Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD).  If you are in a CWD-positive area there are certian precautions that can be taken.  Minimizing the handling and cutting of the brain, spinal tissues, and lymph nodes is recommended.  Secondly, use a boneless processing method and remove excess fat and connective tissue.  Third is to properly dispose of waste products such as heads, hooves and other byproducts, the law states that they must be disposed of in a "licensed landfill" which includes your city dump.

The Deer Masters complete 2 hour DVD is available by clicking this link or searching for eBay user id: HomeBusinessTrix. We teach you to field dress a buck and a doe, skin 3 deer including a mount, and process 3 deer using a boneless method.  It also covers grinding and wrapping.  Two deer are processed at our commercial processing store, and one deer is processed at home in a shed to demostrate the difference of home processing.  CHECK OUT THE PICTURE GALLERY IN MY EBAY LISTING!
