Pioneer CarversDecoys a topic that goes back to begining of time when  early settlers  fashioned straw-and sticks together to lure  fowl close enough .Then came along market hunters,who supplied restaurants all over the country.Earliest know hand carved decoys go back around 1845 in this country.Been carving -collecting since 1989....met some of early collectors who ,said go for quality,condition,always buy what you like.Varity ,pick a region-town,or a single carver,buy a samlpe of every year he worked at this.I know some people who only collect  teal,some have 150 Mergansers.Others go for Eiders-one serious collector has 600 of Seaducks.Its a great Hobby.This weekend go out and travel the coast,inlets,small fishing villages.Try Ebay for some Great Deals on Decoys.
