The truth is you put most of your budget for a home theater into your audio/visual equipment. But what fun is it to watch movies in a blank room with, let's face it, pretty ugly components to look at? For not a lot of money, you can decorate your home theater, or even just your 'corner theater' with inexpensive items purchased on eBay!

First off - so you cannot afford to buy a solid wood cabinet to hide all your components. Not to worry - you can purchase velvet curtains with valance to frame your big screen tv and equipment. The benefit of a curtain, besides the relatively low cost, is that it's easy to remove for those times when you need to get behind your system. Choose deep colors, either red, burgundy or even purple and you'll feel like you're in front of the big screen at your local centreplex!

Second, add some flair to your walls (think of your local sports restaurant or family steak house). Look for items that are easy to hang on the wall - signs with popcorn or concession themes, fake concession candy, old movie reels, drive-in movie memorabilia, etc. There are vendors on eBay that sell customized home theater signs and lighted frames for your movie posters. Add other movie or Hollywood theme memorabilia and you're on your way to having a theater with your own style!

Finally, if your budget allows, go for theater-inspired seating. Many vendors on eBay sell recliners that connect together for the theater feeling (complete with cup holders!) or you can even purchase new and used theater seats - the real thing! If your budget knows no bounds, there are even a couple of vendors that sell complete home theater decor packages - complete with columns, lighting, and risers for your second, third, or fourth rows of seats. Oh, and don't forget about movie-themed rugs and LED ceiling lights that simulate stars. You'll be the envy of your neighborhood!
