This guide will help you to determine what size of deck you need to use for best results when riding and trying to do tricks while skateboarding.

Kids sizes vary a lot up to the age of 13 years old.  The groups you read about below will matter less and less with age.  Once kids reach around age 13 they are stronger and will overcome limitations associated with being small and their deck size will become more of a matter of preference, which varies on how you skate, ie. for pleasure or performing tricks.

Note on Deck sizes below:  The first figure is the width of the board and the second figure is the length of the board for example a

board that is  a Deck size  of  7.5 " x  31"  means that the board is 7.5" wide and 31" long.

FULL SIZE

Deck Size:  7.4 ", 7.5", 7.6", 7.75", 8.0", 8.25"  x  31" or 32"  

Height:  5' 3" or taller

Age Range:  13 yrs or older

Shoe size:  9 and up

MID SIZE

Deck Size:  7.3" x  29"

Height:  4' 5" - 5' 2"

Age Range:  9-12 yrs old

Shoe Size:  7-8

MINI

Deck Size:  7" x  28"

Height:  3' 5" -  4' 4"

Age Range:  6-8 yrs

Shoe Size:  4-6

MICRO

Deck Size:  6.5" x  27.2"

           or   6.75" x  27.6"

Height:  Under 3' 4"

Age Range:  5 yrs or younger

Shoe Size:  3 or smaller

Notes:  Wheelbase mostly dictates quickness and movement on the skateboard so the length of the deck is probably the most important factor when choosing the right deck.  The leverage you have over the skateboard correlates directly with your height.
