Dave Chappelle- The Lost Episodes DVD, Hidden Gems

Dave Chappelle hit the nail squarely on the head with his "I Wrote This Song a Long Time Ago."skit. Probably the best skit of the recently released Lost Episodes DVD, the skit pokes fun at the never ending supply of previously never before heard Tupac tracks. To quote Charlie Murphy, "his lyrics were before his time."

In the skit, club goers are treated to a never before heard track in which Dave playing Tupac proclaims "I Wrote This Song a Long Time Ago." The song commences and Dave (playing a clubgoer) is continually disquieted by the lyrics which seem to contemporary for anyone living in 1994 to write. The song is litered with contemporary references like "From SkyTel to BlackBerry pages" and "Way before we dropped baloney on Afghanistan." 

The highlight of the song probably comes from "Tupac's" reference to George W. winning an election under mysterious circumstances before moments later clarifying he was "talking about George W. Smith From city council, he ran in '93 Out in Oakland, you probably didn't hear about him."
