1/6th scale radio controled Dale Earnhardt Jr. # 8 Nascar racing cars.

From my experience here on Ebay Most sellers dont know or cant tell the differences between the Dale Earnhardt Jr. # 8 "Hobby Grade" or "ADDED FEATURES" versions and the Dale Earnhardt Jr. # 8 Base Versions. BE CAREFUL  WHOM YOU BUY FROM. Some sellers cant seem to read the box either!

There is 5 versions of Dale Jr # 8 1-6th scale Nascar Rc cars.

Heres more information on these 5 versions of RC cars.

BELOW is the first and second versions of the Dale Earnhart Jr. # 8 called the "Chance 2 Racing". This VERY FIRST version of the Base models that came out had foam padding in the front bumpers and rear bumpers. It does NOT have any of the "Hobby Grade" features. Now the ONLY difference between the FIRST and second Base version Chance 2 Racing Rc car is the 2nd Base version DOES NOT have foam padding behind the body front and rear. However the Rc car itself is distinctive because it has the stretched out JR initals on the hood of the car. See the picture below. It is rare to find one still in the box.

BELOW is the 3rd and 4th versions of the Dale Earnhart Jr. # 8 rc car. It is whats called the "Crest Version" (It is distinctive because it has the huge DEI Wheat Crest on the hood). This particular Rc car version came out in Base model AND "Hobby Grade" or "Added Features" version. "Hobby Grade" and "Added Features" mean the same thing. There is several ways to tell the difference on this particualr Rc car. A few of which are The box it came in, the back of the transmitter, and looking under the car itself.

Below is the 5th version of Dale Earnhart Jr. # 8. It is the Bud Racing version.

The Dale Earnhardt Jr # 8 BUD RACING ONLY COMES IN "HOBBY GRADE" FEATURES!  If the BOX AND THE CAR DOES NOT SAY BUDWEISER IT IS NOT A BUDWEISER CAR.

If you havent noticed the differences in the packaging it wouldnt suprise me. Lots of people dont notice. Heres the differences below.

BASE version box, 49 mghz. 100 yard range, FULL FUNCTION remote control and impact bumpers. Thats pretty much it.

"Hobby Grade" or "Added Features" Version. These 3 pictures show the "Hobby Grade" or "Added Features" 50 yard range transmitter

On these two versions, Above BASE VERSION Front view and here is the "Hobby Grade" front view and the "Hobby Grade" back views... Do you see the differences now?

On these 6 cars, on 5 of them, there is TWO versions of each driver that were made. First versions or BASE versions and Second versions or "Hobby Grade" or "Added Features" Version.

The FIRST or BASE versions have NO "added features"
stickers and you CANNOT race ANY TWO (or more) cars of the
SAME of 5 different drivers' cars at the same time! Dale Sr. and Dale
Jr., Jeff Gordon, Jimmie Johnson and Tony Stewart cars of
the FIRST versions (no added features) CANNOT race ALL together!
Transmitter frequencys cannot be changed. Speed and steering are
straight function. (no varilable anything). They either turn
right FULL turn or left FULL turn or it goes straight. This is whats meant by FULL FUNCTION Remote Control. Speed is
either it goes FULL ON or it doesnt. Same for reverse gear.
However in theory you can run a 49 mghz car (base
version) and 6 added features car together (if you have the spare
frequency chip set).

Again, each of the 5 different drivers' cars made are two
different versions of the same car one has more features than the
other. "Hobby Grade" or "ADDED FEATURES" versions have "ADDED FEATURES" stickers.

Those "Hobby Grade" or "Added Features" are...

Digital proportional steering (variable steering), which
means you can turn the transmitter wheel slightly and the car turns a
little. Turn the transmitter wheel alot and the car turns alot. (Like a Real car)

Variable speed control this means you pull back on the trigger a little the car moves a little, pull back on the trigger all
the way and the car takes off! (Like a Real car) This also works for reverse gears as well.

Now if this isnt cool enough...

Each "Added Features" car has their own dedicated frequency. All Tony Stewart cars are the same, ALL Dale Sr # 3 cars are the same, ALL Dale Jr. # 8 cars are the same, ALL Jeff Gordon #24 cars are the same, ALL Jimmie Johnson # 48 cars are the same and ALL Michael Waltrip # 55 cars are the same  6 DIFFERENT Frequencies for 7 different drivers' car.

The transmitters for the cars are different as well.

"Hobby Grade" or"ADDED FEATURES" version transmitter has two
"trim" adjustments on the back of the remote as well as the Frequency
Chip on the side of the remote than can be changed, and can also be
changed on the chassis of the car. 50 yard range.

So if you own 2 or up to 6
of the Dale Earnhardt Jr. # 8 cars, you would have to have a Frequency pack to
race them ALL at the same time. Now, two or more different drivers'
cars can race together (or Six people can race 6 different cars).
NO TWO ALIKE CARS can race together UNLESS you have the
"frequency of another car and or transmitter" to change
it, or a "Frequency 6-Pack" from Team Up Inc. Then in theory you can
run any ONE other duplicate car with Frequency F. Making it 7 cars....

Frequency A is 26.995 ( # 3 Dale Earnhardt Sr. )
Frequency B is 27.045 ( # 20 Tony Stewart )
Frequency C is 27.095 ( # 48 Jimmie Johnson )
Frequency D is 27.145 ( # 8 Dale Earnhardt Jr. AND the new Bud Racing #8 car)

Frequency E is 27-195 ( # 55 Michael Waltrips Napa Toyota)

Frequency F is 27.255 (#24 Jeff Gordon)
