DVD Buying Guide

We all love movies, and we are always interested in the things that entertain us. If you are considering a used movie purchase please consider the following to make sure you get the best possible product for your investment.

First things first, when you are viewing an item, "The Chronicles of jsoeb" as a fictional example. Make sure to read the entire description of the product. Very often any questions you may have are answered already for you in the listing, so be sure to check. If you don't see the answer to your question, ask ask ask. You, as a buyer, are given the power to ask the seller a question anytime you feel like it, take advantage of this opportunity and ask! Most of the time you will receive an answer very promptly which can ultimately help you decide if you really want to spend your money on that item.

You might be asking, "what questions do I ask?". That is an excellent question. Here are a list of things you should verify before any movie purchase.

• Is this movie an original copy and does it come with the original packaging?
• You should never buy burnt or copied movies, make sure the recording is authentic.
• Movies should come in their original cases, if they do not then you should understand and know this before purchasing. Make sure this question is addressed if the item description does not tell you specifically.

• Is the movie playable?
• Nobody wants to buy their favorite movie only to get it and see it has more scratches than a cutting board. Once again, if this question is not specifically answered in the description, get clarification.

• Is the movie compatible with my DVD player?
• The region code of your DVD must match the region code of your DVD player to insure they work on your device. Make sure the movies are compatible with your specific location.

• Is the movie's audio in a language I understand?
• Sometimes I see movies that are in a foreign language, double check with the seller and make sure you get a movie you can understand in your native tongue.

• Do I know the features of this particular release?
• Very often today DVD's are sold as "Special Editions" or perhaps a "Collector Pack". Make sure you know and research what specific version of the release you are purchasing. Very often these releases come with an extra disc of bonus material or something else nifty. If it does, confirm that the bonus material is included with your purchase.

• Is this item in the correct recorded format?
• Since the introduction of HD-DVD and more so, Blu-Ray, there are multiple formats of "DVD" movies available, again make sure the format is explicitly listed and compatible with your player.

When searching for a movie to add to your collection, make sure you can answer all of the above questions before even considering a purchase. The item description should address and answer all of these questions for you, but if it does not, don't hesitate to ask the seller immediately.
