DSR-Star rating-Feedback and Free S&H

My view on feedback & stars as a Buyer and a Seller:

• The info I have below I use the fact that I am a buyer and seller on more than one ID for how I leave the stars & feedback.
•  As a seller I really understand more what other sellers must deal with, I try to use this information to become a better buyer.
• And being a buyer I hope makes me a better seller, I always try to treat all my buyers the way I want to be treated when I am the buyer.

Free S&H and the stars/DSR's (Detailed Seller Ratings):

Some of my favorite sellers who offer Free S&H have the lowest stars for the "Shipping and handling charges" star. It appears that buyers who get Free S&H instead of giving the seller 5-stars are only giving 3-stars for "neither reasonable or unreasonable" This ultimately is hurting sellers. I give all sellers who I buy from 5-stars if I get Free S&H, And so far have given all my sellers 5-stars in all areas.

Things to think about when leaving stars:

(I can not totally claim Aurthur-ship of the info in this section, It is compiled from other members on the community boards and my own ideas together.)

Please consider the thoughts below as to how you will leave the stars & feedback for your next seller.

The "Item as Described" Star rating -All flaws were described, measurements given (if necessary),you understood what you were buying, and an accurate picture was posted. if so 5-stars sounds appropriate.

The "Communication" Star rating -Shipping notification was sent and all questions were answered within 24 to 48 hours (allowing for Holidays & weekends) I personally do not rate below 5-stars on the communication star even if I only get the Paypal automated email on label info, Its enough communication for most purchases,And some sellers are to busy packing my item to worry about multiple emails.

The "Shipping Time" Star rating -Was the package mailed out by the next mailing day the seller offers after your payment cleared (remember not all Paypal Payments are instant and can delay mailings). Please see the shipping label to confirm the date your package was sent. Seller is not responsible for carrier delivery times. If my seller only mails once a week & says so in the listing, Then I knew this before buying, So 5-stars for the sellers setting out clear terms and following them.

The "Shipping & Handling" Star rating -Remember S&H charges include postage fees by the carrier plus any handling fee for packing materials to insure that your order will arrive safely. Were the charges more than quoted on the auction page? The only time I would rate lower than 5-stars here is if the item arrived with no packing material to protect the item (depending on item purchased) Or if the seller advertised Say Priority mail and sent item by a cheaper method. Otherwise 5-stars as long as I knew what I was paying ahead of time. (and Free S&H always gets a 5-star from me)

Feedback:

• For right now Neutral feedback can lower a sellers search standing, I personally leave no feedback if I feel neutral about my purchase.
• A seller who only made minor mistakes but made every effort to fix the issue gets a positive feedback from me.
• Any seller who is willing to work with me as a buyer or fix issues gets a Positive.
• I would only ever leave Negative feedbacks to sellers who committed fraud or who never sent the item with no contact & no refund, If I must file a dispute with Paypal to get my money back when warranted, I will either leave Negative feedback or no feedback depending on the circumstances.

More info you may not know:

• Help keep your Favorite sellers on eBay so they can continue offering buyers low cost products.
• Many eBay sellers including myself are not big Company's,Instead we are just people trying to sell items fairly at a fair price for extra income.
• If you've had a good transaction with any seller, Please consider leaving them 5-stars on all areas where they have met or exceeded your standards. By doing so,good sellers on eBay will be able to keep offering you quality products at the best possible prices.
• eBay treats a 4-star-good-fast or below as not good or fast enough. only 5-stars in all areas are acceptable ratings to eBay & won't subject the seller to sanctions & low search standings.
• When you purchase from a small eBay seller of unique items the stars can make or break them being able to continue selling.
• As always contact any seller before leaving a low star rating or less than positive feedback.
• I enjoy what I do,& it has always been my goal to provide excellent value, great customer service,& fast communication.

The DSR's and what eBay says 1 through 5 stars mean:

How accurate was the item description?

• 1 star = Very inaccurate
• 2 star = Inaccurate
• 3 star = Neither inaccurate nor accurate
• 4 star = Accurate
• 5 star = Very accurate

(Giving 1  or a 2 star for description also causes a drop down box with 6 choices as to why it was not as described, Choices #1 item was not received, #2 Quality did not match item description, #3 item was damaged, #4 item was counterfeit, replica, or an unauthurized copy, #5 wrong item, #6 other)

How satisfied were you with the sellers communication?

• 1 star = Very unsatisfied
• 2 star = Unsatisfied
• 3 star = Neither unsatisfied nor satisfied
• 4 star = Satisfied
• 5 star = Very satisfied

How quickly did the seller ship the item?

• 1 star = Very slowly
• 2 star = Slowly
• 3 star = Neither slowly nor quickly
• 4 star = Quickly
• 5 star = Very quickly

How reasonable were the shipping and handling charges?

• 1 star = Very unreasonable
• 2 star = Unreasonable
• 3 star = Neither unreasonable nor reasonable
• 4 star = Reasonable
• 5 star = Very reasonable
