Since there was a negative write-up on having a down draft cooktop . . .I have to write.  I have had a center down draft Jenn-Air for over 10 years and it is incredibly efficient.  I hated the overhead range hood before because it would catch and show all the visible grease - where the downdraft is easy to clean and keeps the grease residue out of site until you throw the stainless steel filters in a dishwasher.
