I am 44 years old and I have always been a wheeler and dealer, but until the past three years I would concentrate on buying and selling, only  products in the same cateragory. For instance I would sell only sports cards for a year, get burnt out, then sell only mechanics tools for 6 months, then get burned out on tools then switch to coke bottles. What i'm saying is don't do this! I have recently started buying and selling anything I can make a dollar on. I am constantly researching completed listings, the Hot List, and want list. The more knowledge you have about what sells, and people want or collect, the less things you will pass up at yard sales, flea markets, thrift stores, etc. The more you know what to look for, the more you will find. You will find things that other people will over look, or know nothing about. So that means bigger and better finds and more money in your pocket! Also when you list an item on Ebay for auction, it's good to make sure your item will end when most people will be at home and have better access to their computer. For example 8P.M. week nights or even better on Saturday or Sunday. The more people that have access to and see your item the better chance of more and higher bids! Also if you are bidding on an item it is best to find an item that is ending in the U.S. early in the morning, since at that time most people will still be in bed and you will have less competition. Also keep in mind that if your selling, a regular size shipping package can be bigger than alot of sellers think before you have to list it as a large package. By listing an item with the least package size and weight, alot of times the item will sell for more because the customer pays less shipping. Another little trick to get more money for your item is to sell world wide. I have often sold an item for 20-40 % more by  willing to ship it world wide. Buyers in other countries will often pay more, simply because they cannot find the item in there country.
