When purchasing a certified loose diamond, it is necessary for one to have a basic diamond education regarding the quality of the loose diamond and the brilliance of the diamond. Commonly referred to as the "Four C's", there are four important factors to consider: Cut, Color, Clarity, and Carat weight.

The cut of a loose diamond is what determines its shape. There are round, Asscher cut, Princess cut, Pear shape, Cushion cut, Oval, Marquise, Emerald cut, Radiant cut, or Heart shape loose diamonds.

In addition, how well the loose diamonds are cut influences how the loose diamonds can reflect light, and how the loose diamonds can sparkle. This adds much value to the loose diamonds. We at Diamond EDC Gia Certified Diamonds on Ebay specialize in producing loose diamonds for which we recieve from the GIA an Excellent or Very Good rating on the polish and the symmetry of the loose diamonds.

Clarity: Herein lies the astronomical difference in the prices of loose diamonds. A loose diamond with no inclusions or imperfections is worth more than a diamond that has flaws, even though many of these inclusions of the loose diamond cannot be seen with the naked eye. Since inclusions can interfere with the light passing through a diamond, clarity is something to consider, for it will lessen the sparkle in the loose diamond

The color of a loose diamond depends on its capacity of absorbing light rays. In the absence of color, a loose diamond is absorbing the rays equally. Therefore, a colorless diamond is the most valuable. Diamonds range from colorless diamonds and yellow diamonds and are graded according to a letter scale: "D" being colorless and "K-Z" with hints of yellow to very yellow.

Carat refers to the weight of a diamond. Generally, larger diamonds are more expensive, however there are the other 3 C's of the diamond to consider. Some smaller diamonds have better color, cut and clarity and are worth more than large, imperfect diamonds.

The most important step in choosing a diamond is reviewing the diamond certificate, referred to by diamond grading labs as a grading report. A grading report documents the characteristics of a diamond, like the four Cs. Before purchasing a diamond, review a copy of its grading report, as this is proof that it has undergone an unbiased, professional examination.

When buying diamond stud earrings it is important to purchase gia certified diamonds so that you can see for yourself that the diamonds be a perfect match.
