A Cuttlebug Die Cutting Machine Review

The Cuttlebug Machine by Provo Craft was launched at the end of 2006. It is probably one of the most innovative machines currently on the market as not only does it cut and emboss their own dies and embossers it is also the most efficient at utilizing other brand dies such as Sizzix, QuicKutz and Boss Kuts.
Its MSRP is $79.99 however it is widely available for an average selling price of $74.99 at on-line stores and your high street Craft stores.
The Cuttlebug range of products includes dies and embossing folders in various sizes and the machine comes with everything you need in order to get started.
Although the Cuttlebug is technically a platform die cutting machine it is extremely easy to use as it cuts and embosses with a ‘roller action’. When you open the machine to use it, it automatically suctions to the work surface making it very secure and steadfast.
The Cuttlebug machine comes with Cutting Pad A and Spacers B and C. You use these in different variations to cut and emboss your Cuttlebug products or your Sizzix, Quickutz and Boss Kut dies. In fact when you buy the Cuttlebug machine get ready to sell and give away all your other cutting tools and machines as they will no longer be needed!
The Cuttlebug is a personal use die cutting machine that holds up very well to personal use and is probably one of the most durable on the market. However the rollers are slightly smaller than the Big Shot and Big Kick by Sizzix so for heavy users or commercial use it so may not hold up as well as the bigger machines.
The Cuttlebug Large Embossing Folders are A2 (4.25 x 5.5). the perfect size for card makers, simply slot your cardstock into the folder, roll through and voila! The dies cut over and over again giving you the same clean cut or emboss that it gave you the first time.
Because of the high demand and popularity of the Cuttlebug dies and embossing folders they are sometimes hard to find. So one word of advice if you see a die or embossing folder and you like it – don’t delay as it may not be there tomorrow!
ProvoCraft are launching a whole new collection of dies and embossers towards the end of 2007 early 2008. Included in this launch are some Combos which will cut and emboss.
