Customer Service-Online and Then Some
I do not profess to know everything about online buying and selling; but maybe this information will help someone out in the world of eBay. Please buyers when you shop look and ask for all the information you possibly can about the product or merchandise; and ask questions. It is easier to fix an error or problem in the beginning rather then later when it could be a bigger problem; (this is especially true of non-returnable items).
Selling especially online can be a challenge but it can also be rewarding. The lady that thanks you in the email you receive for sending the item or items out as quickly as possible makes up for the irate sounding individual that emailed you and criticized.
Another tidbit, if you cannot get the product out right away because you are sick please email that customer and let them know. Communication is far more effective than silence. Also people cannot hear you or see you; but they do know what no response feels like. Please choose words carefully in communicating online. A person doesn't hear our voice or see us smile, (unless they use webcam) but words can be like arrows. You can heal from the experience of being wounded, but you don't completely heal from the scars. This is especially true when we have so much to do during the holidays.
Working with customers and sellers, and behind the counter in a concrete and mortar store doesn't prepare you for the experience of selling or buying online but it helps. In that long line of customers you acknowledge you can only concentrate on one customer transaction at a time. Try to go that extra mile for the customer; and buyers try to understand and make allowances for peak selling times.
Happy eBaying to one and all!
Sincerely in Serenity chacarol3
