Handkerchief/Crumpled designer vases
These are handmade vases, usually between 7 and 9 inches in height. They are usually found in bright colors and combinations, such as Yellow with Red; or, White with Blue. The colors are usually blended into swirling patterns of bars and dots of the darker color upon the bright one, such as Red design on Yellow background. They make a gorgeous Centerpiece or Mantlepiece, when filled with bouquets of brightly collered flowers.
The top of these vases is crimped into a corregated pattern. The dips in this pattern serve to help keep any bouquet placed in the vase fanned and open. Many times these vases are used as props in TV Clothing commercials, such as was recently done in the ROSS national ad.
At times, these are mistakenly called "bowl" vases. The correct name; however, is HANDKERCHIEF vase. This name comes from the general appearance that the vase bears to a handkerchief, loosly piled upon a table.
Because they are handmade, they tend to be a bit more costly than regular wedding vases; however, some dealers will give quantity discounts on multiple purchases of them; making them a beautiful and memorable alternative for the normal vases used for this purpose.
