Crochet was always cool! It's a timeless art used for a variety of items, ranging from traditional classics to today's fashion, and infused with more fibers and textures than ever before!
Crochet can only be done by hand and uses one hook. In combination with other tools, it's also used to create Hairpin and Broomstick laces. When combined with other mediums, like beads, sequins or even fabric, you get a whole new look!
The technique of Tunisian Crochet most resembles knitting, but that's as close as they come in comparison. Although both crochet and knitting can use the same fibers, one technique may be preferred over the other based on how the yarn works up.
Plan a field trip to your local yarn store (LYS), or get on mailing lists to receive catalogs to get familiar with the different types of yarns...it's not just acrylic anymore!
