WARNING : Fake LaMer may damage your skin and your wallet.
Unscrupulous sellers found an easy way to steal your money and smear the brand name at the same time.
If what you received isn't in a glass jar ,is pure white and feels and smells like " Nivea" hand cream - don't complain that it doesn't work as promised.
The plastic container is made to look like glass - but isn't, there is a cheap protective film under the generic plastic lid - and who knows what it contains - but definitely not the La Mer you've paid for.
Unfortunately unless you know the authentic products - you probably will start using it waiting for results that may be just the opposite to what you were hoping for.
Fake products are a plaque on Ebay , but for as long as sellers make money they will continue selling them knowing that Ebay won't bother to anything about it.
Usually the fakes are small jars - sample sizes - not the regular ones..
Just because seller received several positive feedbacks from buyers of these fake jars - only means that these buyers never had a genuine products but wanted to try a sample without spending a lot of money.
Stores that carry La Mer products don't give away samples. In order to get a sample - you first have to buy a products .There simply isn't all that many sample jars of this creme as you can find in these auctions.
Creme de La Mer is never on sale in department stores. There is no way that seller could have an unlimited supply of samples unless they get it by truckloads from some chinese factory .And yet you can see sellers offering the samples in lots of 3 ,6,10 at very low prices.Even if the price isn't low - doesn't automatically mean it is a real products only the seller makes you think it is.
I wouldn't go that far as to say that ALL Creme de LaMer on Ebay is fake. However before you actually get it - you can't tell from the pictures only . Small hint could be that the lids from the fake LaMer seem to be more flat than the original - but maybe soon the chinese suppliers will correct that as well.
Do yourself a favor - don't buy this product here. Or if you found this one seller who sells the real thing - stick with them , even if others have better prices.
And if you received the product in a plastic jar that looks like "Nivea" hand cream - don't let the sellers persuade you into believing that this is a "new and improved" formula. There is no such thing- La Mer hasn't changed for decades - there is no need to improve perfection.. /They exp-anded their line of products - but they come clearly labeled as such and in different containers./
In short - if it looks like a duck , smells like a duck , feels like a duck ...don't ruin your skin by experimenting with it.
Return it to the seller and demand a full refund !
