Are you looking for a way to say Thank You, boost the morale, or just bring a little comfort to our service men and women serving abroad? If so, here is a great creative kindness project for you or your organization! It is The Gator Project. It has been acknowledged on Sewing With Nancy and has already delivered thousands of "gators" to our service men and women. But, more are needed to help bring relief to our troops from the extreme hot and cold temperatures they experience while serving around the globe. No service man or woman should be cold
What are "gators"? Gators are neck warmers made from tan, taupe, or black camouflage fleece. 2.25 yards of 60" stretch fleece will make 12. Also needed are neck coolers made from tan muslin. 1 yard of 36" wide muslin will make 9. You will also need Soil Moist or Moisture Plus watering crystals for the extended cooling.
Complete details and sewing instructions are available at their website, which is (thegatorprojectdotorg) I can't give links outside of eBay, that is why it is spelled out! I feel this is too important not to try to spread the word about this project here to all my sewing friends on eBay.
You do not have to sew to help out. Mary has listed many other ways you can help. It only takes a few minutes to help.
Please take the time to check out this worthy cause and better still, take time to help them!
Thank you!
