Ebay Store Rhinestones Swarovski Rhinestones Rhinestuds Supplies Nailheads Cabochons
For over 10 years, I've been making custom designs with hot fix rhinestones, rhinestuds, pearls, and iron on nailheads.
Today let's talk about making designs using clear, special heat resistant sticky mylar paper and hot fix rhinestuds. If you prefer, you can use hotfix rhinestones
1st decide on the font or lettering that you want. Since this is for an adorable princess, I have chosen the flowing "Edwardian" font/lettering . As you can see, it has both thin and thicker lines so I will use 2mm for the thin part of the lettering and 3mm pink hot fix rhinestuds for the thicker part of the lettering.
.
Below is the word Princess mirrored(reverse) image is shown in Edwardian font (lettering).
Since this is for a small person and will be put on a small shirt, (It is 4.5" wide by 1.5" tall..) I am using 2 sizes which are 2mm and 3mm pink hotfix rhinestuds and mylar paper (heat resistant, clear paper).1st The mylar paper is taped sticky side UP on top of the pattern.
The pattern paper is larger than the mylar paper. I have cut the pattern/mylar paper down so it can be easily moved as I place the rhinestuds on top of the lettering. This is just easier and faster than taping the whole design down .
The rhinestuds are placed shiney side down(glue side up)I am using adjustable tweezers and the rhinestuds are in small lids for ease and speed in placement.
In the picture below it is almost finished.I have evenly placed the rhinestuds. I always place studs at the top and bottom of each segment of the letters so I can guage even placement. Note that I did add a couple of 2mm rhinestuds to fill in thefront part of the r.
I hope you can see that the thinner part of the lettering is done with the smaller 2mm rhinestuds and the thicker part is made with the larger 3mm rhinestuds.
Now it is finished
Put the white backing paper back on
It is done. I've put the rhinestuds in the stackable storage cups and repaced the lids.
THE FINISHED DESIGN IS SHOWN ON TOP

..These designs are washable when properly applied. 1st turn the garment inside out and wash in cold or warm water on gentle cycle. Wash with light weight garments.
If using a dryer, always use low heat or air dry. If a rhinestone does come off or becomes loose, you can reapply using your household iron, Kandi Kane wand or Bejeweler.
You can "jewel" School Logos, names, etc.and so much more. If you can see it, you can jewel it. Anything from names and words as shown in this illustration or simple outline designs to elaborate totally jeweled designs.
