For 100s of years, in different countries and throughout history, people have found it necessary or desirable to carry small bags and pouches filled with all sorts of things. Gold; Tobacco; Dried food; Herbs and Potions. The list was a long one and the these small treasure bags were often an exciting element in tales of Kings and thieves and mystical times.
Even today many creative people have a passion for finding and using small bags. Some will make them out of scraps of fabric, lace or leather, adding personal touches. Others prefer to buy them ready made, then fill them... with... ? Yes, so here we are. What does the modern woman or man find to fill these little bags with?
I think I can be of help here. For the past 20 years, I have been a college instructor, teaching workshops on a number of different natural art subjects. I supplied each student in my workshops with a supply pack so we could begin working on the subject matter in the first class with no need to go our collecting supplies. Many times I found that small bags were useful for different elements that went into our supply packs.
Here are some of the things my students and I found to fill the bags with: Soaps - Scrubs - Gifts items either hand crafted or purchased - Jewelry - Herbs - Dry gourmet soup mixes - Aromatherapy items – Product Samples - Beads - Craft Supplies - Small Tools - Bath Salts & Bath Teas - Art Supplies - Buttons - Potpourri - Eyelets - Marbles - Dried Fruit & Nuts - Gourmet Coffees & Teas - Candy - Brads - Clips - Rubber stamps - Trading Cards - Playing Cards - Coins - Make-up - Craft Fair Items - Trade Show Samples and Products - Display elements.
And not even having scratched the surface, the list goes on. So what are you waiting for? Go ahead and make or buy some small drawstring bags and start your own collections.
