If you ever experience, getting into your Corvette on a nice sunny day and ready to go for a cruise, (all shiny and clean), you insert the key and nothing happens!!
You know the battery is OK, and everything else is in order, but it will not respond to your command.
It could be the VATS system, which is Vehicle Anti Theft System, not reconizing you as the proper person to be behind the wheel. This happens when you crank your vehicle, without getting into the vehicle or the pellet resistor on your ignition key is faulty. You can wait 3 minutes and the car will most often respond to your command. If it does not, then take a cloth and clean your ignition key at the pellet resistor. Sometimes, oil, dirt or any residue will change the resistance and cause the system to enact the Anti-Theft system. Also, if the resistance, coded 1-15 at ohm resitance, is distorted by some type of magnetic or electrical interference, you may need a new key.
