The above guide is not completely accurate:
1. Pippa Dolls are NOT just Dawn dolls distributed in Europe. There head molds and body types are completely different though they are the same size and can where the same clothes. One the above poster was probably trying to say is that many Topper Dawn Doll fashions were sold to Paltoy and distributed as Pippa Fashions.
2. Don't be afraid of clones, just know the difference. There are Dawn clones that are worth more such as the Montgomery Wards Trio which were cheaper versions of Dawn but used her headmolds. This is a collector's dream. Another is the Barbara clone which is like a lashless Dinah but she is not supposed to have lashes.
3. The prices listed are not accurate ALL THE TIME. The market fluctuates based on supply and demand. I began collecting in 2000 and paid $350 for the Euro split skirt which has been selling for a lot less recently. Collectors determine price not guides. Guides are simply that - guides.
4. Green knee is part of the Dawn condition. While it's great to find Dawns without green knee, ones that have it aren't worthless as implied. It actually serves to authenticate the doll to some degree.
