Selecting the correct size cupola is a very important step when purchasing a cupola.
A good rule of thumb is 1.25 for every foot of unbroken ridge roof line. For example: Unbroken roof line measures 19'

1.25 x 19 = 23.74 round up to 24" cupola
Rounding up or down by a few inches is ok, however if the cupola is too small, it will look like a bird house. In fact we recommend going one or two sizes larger, especially if there is significant height to the structure, or to an adjoining building.
