While there IS an absolute, legitimate concern over buying fake designer labeled wear (Izod, Hilfiger, Nike, Gap, etc) please do keep in mind that many of these companies have decided to jump into the decorated apparel market.
So what does this mean? This means that these garments are sold without their logos appearing in their typical left-chest fashion; instead their logos (or name identification) are placed in different areas--such as on sleeves and the back of the shirt's neckline. The reason that these designers do this is so that these upscale garments may be sold within the decorated apparel industry (embroiders, screenprinters, etc) so that a corporate logo may be placed on the left chest, and give a high-end appearance to that company's apparel.
The reason I feel it important to share is so that people do recognize the value of such decorated garments offered...and that they do not represent "fakes". These garments, though sold thru authorized wholesalers who only sell to apparel decorators (and not in bulk to resellers)are not usually offered at low prices, due to the fact that they are not inexpensive to buy, even at wholesale prices. In all honesty, that is why you will rarely find these items for sale...but if you do, now you'll understand that they may not appear in their recognized fashion. For example, even though "IZOD" is recognized by their signature alligator emblem, Lacoste is now being sold in the decorated apparel market, with "Lacoste" being key-color embroidered on the sleeve lapel.
But rest assured, these designer labels also have the ability to prove their authenticity, and most are sold with their respective tags & identification.
