I never thought I would have to write a guide like this, but after much research, I have found that there are a few Ebay sellers who are trying to sell knock-offs of my magickals. We've all heard of knock-off Coach bags, but have you ever heard of a knock-off spell?? Me neither. Until today.

I have written many guides about metaphysical fraud, but now I actually have found people selling fraudulent versions of MY spells. These sellers are so foolish as to actually copy my descriptions and steal my hallmarks, but I thought this would be a good opportunity to write a guide about genuine metaphysical practitioners and the ways we work and cast. This guide should explain more about magickals as well as help the uniformed steer clear of fraudulent spell sellers. It should go without saying that anyone who steals another persons work is not an honest person, but this guide is meant to go more in depth regarding spell casting methods.

Spell Casting Handmade Items Is An Art And No Two Artists Are Alike

There are many ways to cast spells and many spells are similar as far as their purpose. For example, there are love spells, money spells, fertility spells etc. However, each individual practitioner has their own very unique ways of casting. When I say that I cast according to the "old ways", I mean that I follow this method of handmade magickals where the individual practitoner develops their own style and manner of creation. Those of us who devote our lives to this work consider it an artform, and the same as with any artist, we all have our own ways of creating a spelled item. Our ways of crafting an object are so unique to us, that you can usually tell who created an item by the way it looks. For example, I make most of my spells in antique bottles, I use a feather as my hallmark, and I use spell cast wax to drip all over the bottle and seal it. I use decorative ribbons and raffia around the neck of the bottle and often will attach a charm or my personal tag to one end of the ribbon. This is my specific artistic way of crafting and it is unique to me. That is--it was unique to me until another seller saw that my sales were very good and decided to invest in some antique bottles, feathers, and wax. One of my clients immediately noticed this copycat seller and alerted me to it. This person was so foolish as to think they could try and create a bottle that looked just like mine and try to pass it off as their own. They stole my style but could not steal the substance. So, let's talk substance...

Then There's The Casting...

Aside from the way a spelled item looks (the artistic element), of course there is a casting that goes into it. Fraudulent sellers think they can just fill a bottle with a bunch of tea or something and try to pass it off as a potion. I spend hundreds of dollars a month buying herbs and oils for my potions, and it takes a tremendous amount of energy and time to do a casting. Since a dishonest seller rarely knows anything about magick, they can never vouch for casting an item themselves. They usually will make up a story about their great aunt or grandmother casting the items because this takes the responsibility off of them. They will often list a bunch of gobbeldygook nonsense that has no bearing in the actual world of metaphysics, such as the aunt being a wiccan gypsy hermetic shaman (of course, there is no such thing). They will keep repeating things like "TRIPLE CAST!" and "ULTIMATE POWER" with no real explanation of what went into the spell. It's sort of like the metaphsyical version of a car salesman who keeps talking to you about the paint finish when all you want to know is if the car actually runs.

Handmade Spells Are Exclusive To The Practitioner

Now, when it comes to spells, they are as individual as the practitoner. When you buy a spell from a practitoner, you will never be able to get that exact spell from someone else. For example, my spells all have a certain look and style that is entirely my own. This is beacuse I am a certain personality and I put all of my energy and affinities into the things I create with my hands. I use a lot of glitter, feathers, and drippy waxes in my spells because I have a personal love for them. This is why it feels like such a personal violation to have my work copied.  All of my spells are also exclusive to me, which is why it is especially infuriating that people are trying to steal them. Especially when it comes to handmade spells, they are a very individual thing.

An Example Of Blatant Energetic Theft

For example, I offer a jar of rare vampire energy sands which were charged on my Sanguine Amalgamate rings. This jar contains a potent mixture of sands, oils, waters, and herbs and takes me a tremendously long time to cast. I invented, created, and charged the spell myself.  Recently, someone stole this and tried to make it their own. Of course, all they had to go by was a picture of the jar and my description of it. Thinking that they could replicate it themselves, I guess they went and found a jar, sat in front of their computer looking at my listing, and tried to make something that looked as close to mine as possible. Then, they took my description and copied it, rewording it just differently enough as not to be "description theft". Still, they used most of the terminology that is exclusive to me such as "wet potion" and "dry potion" and "wet/dry potion mix" (these are the ways I personally describe my potions in my listings). So there you have an example of someone blatantly stealing from another practitoner. The funny thing was that they claimed that the spell jar was based on a very old traditional recipe, which is impossible since I first created it myself several months ago! I am afraid that what is happening is that people who know nothing about spells want to make some fast cash, and they think that by copying the work of someone else they will be successful. In reality, they are committing one of the most horrible energetic crimes possible. Any true practitioner and spell caster would never even consider copying another practitioner in such a way. Not only this, but is not even true "copying" since they are just making an empty item and trying to offer it as spell cast!

For My Clients: My Hallmarks

I would like to close with a small list of artistic elements and hallmarks that my spell bottles and magickals are known for:

THE FEATHER: Since I began casting thirty years ago, the feather has always been my hallmark. I usually top most of my bottle spells with a plume coming out of the top or side.

THE WAX DRIPPINGS: Unlike most practitioners who seal with solid wax, I use a thinner wax that creates a drip effect. I usually let the drippings run all over the bottle and down the sides. The drippings are very fragile and break off easily, but I enjoy  the energetic effect of the drippings.

DRY BASE/DRY POTION: I use a dry base in my spells that is exclusive to me and I have never seen another practitoner use. It is created using a secret formula of several types of sands, inks, oils, and herbs selected for the specific spell. The person who tried to copycat my vampire sands jar attempted to copy the look of my dry base.

ANTIQUE BOTTLES: I try to use antique, vintage glass bottles in my elaborate bottles---otherwise I  use glass bottles in unique shapes.

The above are all methods that I personally employ most often when I am casting. While I am sure there are others who use elements in a similar manner, I think my style stands out very strongly as unique. The copycat sellers in particular are trying to incorporate all of my hallmarks in order to make their items look visually as much like mine as possible. So, they are copying my artistic style, but obviously they do not know the casting part since that is not as easily copied. Common sense says anyone who is trying to copy the precise look of another practitioners work is dishonest and disrespectful among other things. Aside from those who actually are taking the time to try and physically create spell bottles that look like mine, there is one person who actually copied my listing for a love spell bottle word for word. Talk about bad karma. I'd hate to be on the receiving end of that energetic boomerang.

I usually write guides to try and help those of you looking for real magickals to protect yourself from the sharks in the metaphsyical category....but it's so strange to be writing a guide about people in the metaphysical category trying to rip YOU off by stealing MY items and descriptions. I can't believe it. I would greatly appreciate anyone giving me a "heads up" when they see people trying to steal all of my hard work and turning it into something horrible!

Many Blessings,

Meena
