Copycats.
What bothers me most is the fact that there are some people who have absolutely no creativity and just copy soemone's style in auction listing and picture taking. Yes, it is so true that it is not funny anymore. They watch your auctions and when you do well, they quicky jump on the band wagon. I have personally seen 3 sellers that are trying so hard to copy my listings and style. Oh well, that's the lazy world out there.
Honestly, I found it so funny when you make a creative listing and suddenly out of the blue, there are others following you. I guess it is called 'Setting The Standards'. Yes they change the layout and wordings a little, but the last time I saw one of their listings, it was 101% totally different and suddenly, the auctions look similar to mine. Wow, I must be some sort of 'heroine' to them I guess. Anyway, I wish them the best. Since I changed my template recently, I am waiting to see how well they follow. Shameless but cunning. That's the way in life of the local eBay sellers. Always ready to follow suit when you do well. I don't blame them, I blame the mentality and the way people are brought up here. The 'Every woMan For Herself' upbringing. Most astonishing is the fact that they are not shy to follow others. Locally we have a name for that, 'Thick Skin'.
High Postage Charges from Sellers.
You, reading this, as a buyer would have come across similar auctions as mine on eBay so I can only let you know, PLEASE always read the sellers TERMS and CONDITIONS and SHIPPING DETAILS. There are sellers out there who charge a very high shipping rate without you knowing and when you get your bill.... just be ready to PAY ££! Also when you combine purchase, ALWAYS check how they combine the rates. like me, I use the 50% postage discount but you need to read how it works on my auctions.
Do not be fooled by cheap item prices because they make the money from the Shipping Rates. Yes, when you see auctions with very very low prices or with best offers, please always see the Shipping Rates! They lower their cost on the item but increase the Shipping Charges. So if you are a quick buyer, you would just click on the items because it seems so cheap. Wait till the bill comes, then you'll fall off your chair. These are old tactics used to attract buyers to the store or items. Unfortunately, there will be the buyers who unsuspectingly get lured without seeing the actual total cost.
So, always READ the Sellers SHIPPING/POSTAGE price and terms before you buy anything. Asking questions is a good practice. As always, if you have any questions, please do contact me. You reading this, have a good day there.
