There is a way to have a digital tv by using your exising video mp3 player. I'm sure I'm not the first to discover this, but it's new for me. This came to me when I became frustrated with the lousy reception of portable digital televisions. This method gives better reception and is much cheaper.
FYI.... This can also work for a portable dvd player.
Requirements: 1) video mp3 player that has "video in" capabilities; 2) digital tv converter box
For this instance, I used the Archos 605 with a DVR station and the Tivax STB-T8 digital converter box.
1 - Connect the red and white audio cable and yellow video cable to the digital converter box .
2 - Connect the other end of the cables to the "video in" on the DVR station.
3 - Turn on the Archos 605, and navigate to "Recorder", then "Video Recorder"
4 - Turn on the digital converter box.
5 - Using the Archos 605 screen, program the digital converter box by scanning for channels.
6 - Enjoy!
I hope this proves useful for those of us who need a television in our office, but don't want the expense of buying a new portable digital television.
