In short, I like it! I got it on sale for $200 which is a great bargain compared to other brands. It has a good 6.5 horsepower small engine and you don't have to pre-mix the oil and gasoline. At less than a 110 pounds I can scoot it around without buying a wheel kit. The 4000 watts is its PEAK (surge) load capability with 2800 watts being its running load. It is an air-cooled licensed Honda clone engine thats pretty much trouble free and has a low oil level automatic shut-off. . My intent is to use it for emergency power only so all I did when I got it home was fill it up with a quart of 10W30 oil and put the plastic cover over it. I'll add the gasoline only when I have to use it. The manual is easy to read and pretty straight forward. It will supply DC and AC power. The control panel is informative and simple to read The two standard 3-prong AC outlets are adequate for my intended needs. At $200 it's a great portable generator that does the job of other brands selling for as much as 3 times more.
As well as the Contractor Line this unit also goes under the brand names of Powerwise, Chicago Electric, Cummings, WildFire, and DuroPower and are all built by Jiang Dong, Ltd. in China. JD is an extremely large mainland China builder of small gas engines, go-carts, minibikes, water pumps, and lawn equipment. Most are sold under private brand names, but a few bear the JD logo.
