I'm writeing this guide based on my personal experience with five different computers.

GatewayWindows 98 with a Pentium 3,Gateway Windows ME with a Petium 3,GatewayWindows XP with a Pentium 4 and last but not least AMD Processor with Windows XP.

The Pentium processors in all the Gateway computers done well and the Gateway Pentium 4 was super.

I wanted to try an AMD system so i bought one on Ebay and gave my Gateway pentium 4 to my Daughter. The AMD has a glass see through side and has alot of fancy blue lights and is a sight to behold but it is'nt what it was cracked up to be because it is much slower than the Gateway with the Pentium 4 processor even with the same 1 gig hard drive and the same 540 Ram the AMD just dont make the grade.

I could do anything with Gateway computers like swithing hard drives,increaseing the ram and even reinstall the entire operateing system because i was so familuar with them.

The AMD just sucks because i have tons of problems reinstalling the operateing system i cant even get the OS to recognise the dial up modem,lucky for me i have high speed cabel but i would like to have dial up for a backup system. I wont take it to a computer shop,i would rather wait untill January and buy a new Gateway computer equipped with Windows Vista.

I hope this computer guide will help you from makeing the same mistake i did,there are alot of great computers wheather it be Dell,HP,Mac or Gateway just dont do what i did.
