Many of the slow computer problems are related to spyware and adware that is automatically installed on your PC (often without your knowledge), and starts together with Windows every time you start your computer. You want to shut them down as soon as possible, but how?
These little programs that run in the background of your PC are invisible to you, but they consume valuable resources and literally "steal" RAM memory available that you need to smoothly run your applications and programs.
At TotalSolutionTeam we work with many computer issues every day and will try to post our "speedup your PC tricks" in this blog on weekly basis. Here is one of them:
Press the START button located in the bottom lower corner of your PC screen.
Go into RUN and type in msconfig
Popup windows will open called SYSTEM CONFIRGURATION UTILITY.
Mouse over to STARTUP section (here you will find the list of ALL of the programs that load with at the computer's startup - often times 90% of them are simply memory "hogs" and can by removed from starting up)
Uncheck all of the boxes and press apply (if you have a wireless internet, or antivirus software you may look for an entry that says WiFi controller or the name of the antivirus program in the list, and leave these checked since you want to have your WiFi and antivirus working as your computer starts up).
You will be prompted to restart your computer.
After you return to Windows, a configuration utility windows will popup (check the box that says "do not show this message again," and enjoy the NEW SUPER FAST PC!
PS.
All of the changes made to the startup options in MSCONFIG are reversible. If you find that one of the programs that you used all the time such as SKYPE is not starting up automatically, you can go back to MSCONFIG and check the box that displays skype next to it.
Please ask any other questions about your own computer problems, and we will try our best to address them at any time!
