Computer Generated Cross Stitch Patterns: So... you find a pattern on
Ebay you just love, the seller says it is computer generated, you like
it so much you buy it and then when it arrives your a horrified because
you wasted good money for a chart you more than likely will never
stitch. Why
Most of the computer generated patterns are made of such programs you can buy for around $20.00. The person takes a photograph of something and puts it into the program and then it is made into a cross stitch design pattern.. the problem.. the program catches the blemishes of the scan or photograph and also sees certain colors in the photo as ONE color so where shading should be there is not the detail needed to make out the fine art of the design.
But the main problem.. 99% or more are never stitched by the seller so they don't know where these problems with stitches, colors, shading and detail are supposed to be or where they are missing. If they stitched the design or had someone stitch it, there would be notes to correct the pattern if they were a legit seller and designer.
Most of the programs kick the designs out in pages that are hard to match up.
Many people are also breaking laws by scanning in licensed products from companies like Disney, Mattel and other companies and are breaking the law.
