The Compton Police Department was in existence from 1888 to 2000. During that time there were several different patches worn by parking control, campus police, but only four were worn by Compton city police officers.
The first was LASD shaped with a forest green twill background. The center emblem looked like a beer barrel, but was actually the hub of a wagon wheel.
The second patch had a wheel in the center, was also LASD shaped and had a wagon wheel in the center.
The last two patches were CHP shaped with the Martin Luther King monument in the center. The earlier style had the slogan "WE'RE MAKING IT BETTER", the last issue did not.
I'm only aware of two styles of badges and the first looks like an LAPD series 5 eagle top shield with the California state seal. The last issue looked like the LAPD series 6 badge with the Compton court building in the center.
