The Big Plunge
I cannot even begin to describe to those of you outside of the printing supply business how much time we spend sourcing quality products for our customers to buy. There is a TON of junk out there that will lessen the life of your printer or give you sub-par printing quality.
In the 20 years we have been involved in the printer cartridge supply business I bet we have used upwards of 200 vendors. Some went out of business, some were scams that seemed to disappear once the crap was delivered, others just were not consistent enough in quality from batch to batch. There is a very, very small percentage of suppliers out there who just want to rip you off. It happens in any large industry. The same people who mail you fake invoices hoping that you will pay also call us and email us offering us unheard of deals on quality cartridges. The printer and printing supply business is a $40+ BILLION dollar industry. So of course there are gonna be some bottom feeders following around that big of a whale.
Here at TDI we never knowingly sell an inferior product. Instances where that occurs we are prompt at correcting it. We have a network of long-time tested vendors who offer us the most consistency while providing a large value savings over branded cartridges.
In finding this value/performance we do source a majority of our products from Asia. We are in no way against American-made products, there are several reputable brands. We chose to be able to offer a larger discount to our customer's by importing them from overseas. Around 80% of ALL cartridges produced, including OEM's, are manufactured in Asia. There is another small subset of the market that is assembled in another country using imported parts from Asia.
