These are some common tips that sellers might not know when posted their items on ebay as an auction:
1. Always post your item in the evening so the auction will end in the evening. I tend to have higher bids on the same item when I posted the item in the evening.
2. Post your item so it can end in the weekend. Again, the reason is the same as tip 1.
3. Answer all the questions about your item ASAP. Also try to check your e-mail at the last hour in case there are last minutes questions.
4. Place your minimum bid at the maximum amount for the lowest fees. For example, you can place $9.99 for an item but you only have to pay ebay fee of $.35 instead of the next level up.
5. If the item is extremely hot during that day, then you need to place the item at the highest buy it now price so the item will be available on the "Highest Price" catergories when people click on it. For example, I tend to check out the high price value basketball cards only so your card would be one of the first items that I will see.
6. Don't end your item early if you don't see a lot of bids, look at the amount of watcher you have. Some buyers wait till the last minute to bid on your item.
7. Sell an item when it is hot! Buy when it is not! Don't have a tendency to wait for the best value if an item is already hot because it usually will go right back down when the heat cools.
8. Check other items that are currently for sale and see how high your item can sell for. Don't place a buy it now or starting bid that goes above these auctions becuase you will end up paying the ebay fees and receive no bids.
9. Good luck and I will try to post more tips in the future.
