1979 was the year that Color analysis came into play for many women. I endorsed one of the first books written about the Color theory. It was so intriguing to me, and explained why I had so many things in my closet that just didn't work for me. Worst of all there where garments that still had price tags on them, sound familiar??
While so many things in the fashion world come and go, I think this is one theory that has out lasted all the trends. Not only has it stayed around but I have seen major improvements.
As our knowledge of color has grown and expanded, we have come to realize that, like personality categories, each of us falls into a basic group (dominant season). BUT you also flow into a secondary season as well. That allows the perfect combination of colors for everyone.
For example, an Italian woman who has deep olive skin, brown eyes and dark brown hair is predominantly a Winter. However, her olive skin tone and brown eyes also give her the ability to wear some of the rich, deep colors of Autumn such as olive.
Determining whether you are a Cool or Warm undertone is the key to finding the right colors that will have a positive or negative effect on your overall appearance. My life has been so much easier by knowing which colors enhance my appearance and which ones I should avoid.
The old reasoning that I can wear "any" color will limit you to looking your best ALL the time. Knowing how to work with your own personal colors for your undertones will not only make you feel better, but it will save you tons of money when you shop. EVERYTHING in your closet will go together and you can expand your choices without spending additional monies.
In the next few reviews that I will do I will cover in more detail just how these things work for you. So keep tuned and if you have any questions, you are more then welcome to email me at sherrygilson@comcast.net
