Marilyn Monroe, Elvis, Barbra Streisand, Joan Crawford, Jimmy Stewart, Gregory Peck, Bill Clinton, Johnny Cash and other original items that are very valuable and rare can be found on ebay: How to look for rare and valuable autographed and non-autographed entertainment memorabilia and other collecting tips.

*Contracts and Bank Checks have been through various authentification processes, have numerous signatures, specific dates, verification stamps and are more valuable and rarer than 8x10 pictures or signed 3x5 note cards which can easily be faked.

*Look for dates and specific titles- for example: a Pilot episode (1st episode made with options to employ) TV contract is worth much more than an agency contract or 1 time appearance contract (ex. Leno Show for a night). Also earlier dates are worth more- for example a Jack Haley signed bank check from 1947 would be worth more than a bank check from 1966.

*Additional Information written in by the signee makes the item worth more as well- for example: if Mel Blanc writes in his soc. sec. and/or telephone numbers in personal handwritting on the contract.

*Multiple signatures and Initials make the item worth more- for example: if the contract is signed multiple times and/or has Initialed Riders attached, the value increases.

*Look at the signature and match it as best as possible with known examples. If you are unsure, check multiple listings and see if the signature matches or is different from the majority of the items, if the signature looks completely different, the item may be fake. Some small differences in signatures occur, due to the speed in which signed, the multiplicity of the documents signed, the age of the signee at which signed, and other factors.

*Look at what the item actually is and says- for example: a letter to Joan Crawford congratulating her for her Oscar win by another famous person is worth more than a regular thank you or keeping in touch letter.

*If the signee is alive or not also will have an impact on the price.

*Try to buy the item un-framed and frame it yourself to save money on the item and on shipping. All my items come unframed.

*These are some of my tips and some of the ways that I use when buying items for my personal collection. I hope they will be usefull when collecting and buying. I will be adding more later.
