The purpose of this guide is to help individuals who collect and are interested in collecting Liquor Bottle Decanters. Jim Beam bottles have been one of the most popular decanters to collect for many reasons. There are many reasons,

The quality of workmanship and design. Many decanters are fine china made by Regal China and alot of them are porcelain.

They have so many decanters over 1,000.

The subject of their decanters capture the interest of many people, with cars, trains, animals, people, organizations opera, and states.

There are many clubs that bring collectors together and promote this hobby that have been around for along time.

The value of the bottles and decanters vary for many reasons, among them are; scarcity, age, subject

The biggest makers of these decorative decanters are the following Distilleries, Jim Beam, Jack Daniels, Ezra Brooks, Wild Turkey, Lionstone, I.W. Harper, Kontinental, McCormick, Michter's, Mount Hope, OBR, Old Commonwealth, Ski Country

One of the biggest debates among decanter collectors is the decision to collect full bottle verse empty bottles. I am a big supporter of collecting empty bottles and decanters for the following reasons:

1> Whiskey is like wine, if you dont store the bottle on its side the cork will dry out and shrink, letting the air out of the bottle. There goes your whiskey.

2> The weight of all your bottles on your shelves can create alot of problems.

3> China or Porcelain bottles are not designed to store whiskey, they are very porous.
