The latest catalog from Yugoslavian coin expert Ranko Mandic, Metalni Nova Srbije, Crne Gore I Jugoslavije (Coins of Serbia, Montenegro and Yugoslavia), is the 2006 edition, issued in honour of the 50th Anniversary of the Serbian Numismatic Society.
Besides just the national entities listed in the title (Serbia, Montenegro and Yugoslavia), this catalog also covers issues of the former states of Yugoslavia, including Bosnia & Herzegovina, Croatia, Macedonia and Slovenia.
Although this book is riddled with minor typographic errors, the information included is detailed and accurate. Included are mintage figures (where available), technical specs (diameter, weight, edge type, alignment and metal composition). Most issues also list designers and release dates. The values given are in Euros, and from my experience are a much more accurate reflection of the global market for the material than the values given in the Krause catalog.
Although written in his native Serbian language, Mr. Mandic has added English sub-titles throughout, which give more insight into the issue of the coins listed.
As an advanced collector of this material, I find this book an indispensable tool, and rely on it much more than the Krause catalog for accurate and in-depth detail.
This is actually the 4th edition of Mr. Mandic's catalog, who is also author of Tokens of the Yugoslav Lands, a limited edition catalog released in 2001.
