There's a vast assortment of unique and inexpensive vintage Coca-Cola paper items to collect. It's an easy way to start a collection. You can find vintage coupons, napkins, paper beverage cups, cancelled employee checks from numerous Coca-Cola bottling plants, No-Drip bottle protectors in dozens of designs. There are also an assortment of ink blotters and matchbooks. You can easily purchase cardboard coasters and vintage bottle cartons. And if you want to start collecting vintage Coca-Cola magazine and newspaper ads, there are literally thousands to find...at very affordable prices. Collecting vintage Coca-Cola memorabilia doesn't necessarily mean that you need to spend hundreds of dollars. A great collection of vintage paper items can be easily obtainable and are great to display as framed pieces, in shadowbox tables or under glass or in photo albums. Other vintage paper items include: school tablets, playing cards, school book covers, bottle hangers, bottle labels, calendars, letterheads, invoices, menus, sheet music, straws, and misc. advertising brochures and sales pieces. Another interesting paper collection to start, are the variety of Coca-Cola related magazines that were published throughout the years, including: The Red Barrel magazine, The Refresher magazine, The Coca-Cola Bottler and Pause For Living magazines. Some local Coca-Cola Bottlers also published in-house newsletters such as Pause Prints in Los Angelos. Serious collectors try to collect the entire series of issues. But most of these publications can still be purchased for under $20. So don't get discouraged when you see sky-rocketing prices for vintage Coca-Cola memorabilia. There are still thousands of vintage items to collect at affordable prices. I personally collect any vintage paper items related to Coca-Cola. My belief is that most of these items were meant to be thrown out or just didn't survive. Some collectors shy away from paper items because they think they just don't last because of humidity or insects. As with any collection, proper care and handling will insure that your collection stays intact for years to come. You need only look at that 1905 Lillian Nordica coupon ad in your collection and wonder how it survived all these years. Because it was most likely stored in a dry and clean place and will most likely be around for another hundred years. So get out there and start bidding! Ebay has a ton of vintage paper items at any given time. Some keywords to type in: Coca Cola paper, cardboard, cups, magazines, books...you get the idea. Good luck! Ray
