My baby received the ladybug as a gift and its great!  My 4 yr old wants one for herself now too.  We sit on the dresser (3 ft tall from floor) and it projects beautifully on a wide span of her ceiling (8 ft tall ceiling).  It has a button to change the color setting. 

I know it received a bad review from someone else on eBay but they must have either received a damaged one or their batteries are low because it projects very brightly in a dark room.  My sister owns two and they work excellently also. 

The shell doesn't get hot, my daughter has even played with her ladybug in the crib, changing the colors on it.  We love it!
