Clip On Sunglasses, a simple thing until you need a pair and go to look for just the right size. It can get confusing, with shapes, sizes and colors to choose from. They come in mm's and only the size of one lense, so that throws a person off. We sell several hundred shapes, sizes and colors. Most people walk up take a look and walk away a bit overwhelmed. That is where we come in.
First we look at the shape of a persons glasses, Oval, skinny oval, Rectangle, Skinny Rectangle, Square, Square/Round, Aviator/Tear Drop, Modified Tear Drop, Rounded Rectangle and even an egg shaped lense. Then size: one lense measured width and top to bottom in mm's we also will convert into inches.
Once we have the shape and size the lense preference becomes important. What a person sees thru there eyes and glasses is a personal choice and what they are comfortable with. All lense colors come with a 100% UV portection, which is a clear coating, not a tint. The most popular is probably the polarized lense, that comes in a smoke or brown color. These lenses are great for driving and sports that involve water. Next would be a Serengheti drving lense which is a copper color, one of my favorites. Makes what you see look brighter and clearer without blocking the blue, even on cloudy days. Dark lenses come in a very dark smoke or brown lense. There are mirrored clip ons, silver, blue, green and rainbow colored mirrors on a smoke lense. The purpose of the mirror is added protection from the sun and reflects the sun away from your eyes. Rose colored lenses are very comfortable to wear, I myself was surprised and I enjoy wearing them, not for everyone. Is not like looking thru red lenses, is very soft.
The last lense would be the yellow night driving. These become very popular for people once they try them. They stop the glare from street and car lights at night. They can be worn indoors around flourescent lighting. Their are people that enjoy wearing them day and night for various reasons. They would be the lightest lense a person can wear.
In California because of the amount of sun we recieve here most all residents will at some time develop cataracts. Sunglasses, clip on sunglasses, wearing hats or blocking the UV rays however one can is very helpful to preventing or slowing them down.
