The following has been provided to me DIRECTLY from Nintendo themselves:
Mix:
(1) tsp isopropyl alcohol
(1) tsp water (distilled is best!)
Apply to Q-Tip, and rub vigorously along the pins. (In an up and down motion, NOT side to side!!!)
Be SURE to DRY the pins with the other end of the Q-Tip, as leaving alcohol/water mixture will only corrode them again.
That is all!!!
**you MAY need to repeat this process several times, preferably UNTIL the Q-Tip comes out CLEAN.
