Make Your Metal/Tin Tole Tray Look Its Best!! I spoke with a couple of antique tole tray collectors about how they keep there trays looking fabulous, along with my own methods. This is specifically for metal or tin trays. They have used a no-wax build up furniture spray. They would simply spray a quick fine mist of cleaner on there tole tray and would wipe it quickly with a soft cloth. Give it another gentle wipe with another soft clean cloth too. This will ensure that there is no residue left. You will be amazed at how this will give your tray a quick pick me up. Do not use a nubby washcloth or paper towel. They can scratch your tray with their small amount of nubbiness. Now I will caution you with this....Please use extreme caution when cleaning trays with paint chips. Any cleaning methods could ruin a fabulous paint job. I personally have left my trays in "as found" condition if the paint looks fragile. I would never advise that this method is the answer to cleaning all of your tole trays. This review is just an opinion gathered by a few longtime tole collectors. We will not be held responsible in any way for how your tray has turned out after using this cleaning method. This is what we use and it works for us. Use your good judgement. Most fine antiques are untouched. I will update this further if I get some more good cleaning tips. Please take a moment to stroll through my vintage tole tray shop. We have a fine selection of antique trays. Also, we add to our store weekly. ~Enjoy~
