Don't spend more money on paint brushes....Clean the ones you've got!
No more throwing those brushes full of dried paint! It's simple and easy to get acrylic paint out of expensive brushes..... If you're a hp rose painter, like I am, then I'm sure you've spent a dime or two on brushes! But, not anymore.....all those brushes full of acrylic paints can be usable again! Yep, even the driest of dry.Read on.....
For those stubborn brushes that have had built up dried paint for years:
- Fill a shallow cup with enough Hand Sanitizer to cover your brush bristles.....
- Soak the brushes overnight in the cup for those stubborn brushes
- Squirt some Hand Sanitizer out on a styrofoam plate (paper plate won't work...it soaks up the HS)
- The next day take your brush out and work them up and down smashing down the bristles on a styrofoam plate while still keeping their natural form. Just look at all that built up paint coming out! I'm sure it's a rainbow of colors.
- Flip your brush over and do the other side
- Continue to work the brushes in a pumping motion up and down until all the paint runs clear.
- Wash under running water squeeze the excess water out of your bristles and form them back into place and let them dry.
- Enjoy your favorite brush once again!

It really, truthfully works! Before I used this method, I would have to throw my brushes away and spend more money on new brushes all the time. Now, I keep a pump bottle of hand sanitizer right next to my painting supplies and use it when necessary. Of course, if your brush is just too far gone and can't be salvaged as new, you can use it for pouncing on paint or a basecoat brush.
You can buy hand sanitizers anywhere they sell soap. It comes in a pump or small travel size bottle. It's the stuff that you can use instead of soap when you're on the go and don't have any water. It's made from isopropyl alchol. Stop by and read my other guide on getting paint out of carpets and rugs too!
Happy Painting!!
